Finnish independent artist, VEERA REBEKKA has released her second single “Game” today. Hot off the success of her debut single “There’s Nothing More Deceptive than an Obvious Fact”, “Game” is sure to captivate listeners once again. Not only is VEERA REBEKKA an artist, she is also a psychologist and it is this ability to fuse her passion for music with her understanding of the human mind that makes her artistry deeply unique.

“Game” begins with the protagonist pleading to not be allowed to ‘play the game’, as the song continues, the listener learns that ‘the game’ is the way in which the protagonist views romantic relationships. Unlike most songs, ‘Game’ allows the listener to understand the complex thinking of a self-aware, emotionally unavailable individual. The protagonist understands that they are in an addictive cycle of perusing love and a connection with someone, only to disappear when they have finally attained the emotional intimacy and ‘high’ they had been seeking from the chase of love. Though the vulnerable admission of them being ‘scared of rejection’ and their inability to truly ever let anyone in, gives depth to the protagonist’s experience, by offering a vulnerable insight into their psyche and the reasoning behind their behaviour.
