homebound - SATRE

Single Review

Let’s go back to 2022, when SATRE invited me to London to listen to my favourite song at the square between Tate Modern and the Millennium Bridge. And that’s what happened. He charmed me with his guitar and happiness. Since then, he’s released four singles, including ‘homebound’, which will be one of my favourite folk songs of the summer.

By Julia Miszczyk

This is an enjoyable song where we can hear the characteristic guitar for SATRE, he doesn’t separate from. It highlights how we, as adults, struggle to find our place on Earth or the place we call home. And in the hurry of work and duties, we forget that home is where our friends and other half are. What fulfils our hearts is more important than where we are. “My station is yet to be found/ But for you I’m homebound” he sings.

Johan’s deep voice and nostalgia round off this track. The banjo in the background also made me smile. And now I can declare that SATRE will be a folk artist, whose path I will undoubtedly follow.

If you would like to hear Johan’s voice live, you may often find him on the streets of London with a guitar and a case full of coins. But first, you’ll have to get through the dancing crowd around him. Now I’ll leave you with this information and suggest you listen to his music on streaming platforms and watch the heart-warming music video for ‘homebound’.

Listen to ‘homebound’ here.
