I Get Fidgety (Unplugged version) - Rikki Lee

Single Review

By Clare Cordell

Rikki Lee is a Malaysian born singer songwriter and all-round incredible musician, who is now taking the UK music scene by storm with her pop, rock and electronic dance fusion sound.

She has performed with some incredible artists such as Martin Smith and Fleur East and has received notable radio play for her hit track ‘How Are You Doing Now’!

Rikki Lee is known for her insane guitar talent and as a Virtuoso she has been endorsed by brands such as Seth Baccus Guitars, D’Addario and even the prestigious Fender!

When this song came to me to review, I did my standard research into Rikki and I’ll be honest, reading all about her even before listening to the track made me excited!!! I am a complete sucker for a good guitar riff so I can already tell at Rikki is going to have gained a new fan here.

This is a stripped back version of her hit song ‘I Get Fidgety’, the full version of the track is out on Spotify now and I highly recommend giving it a listen.

I have to say, the title of this track alone is GREAT. I think any fellow neuro spicy person will relate to the concept of being constantly fidgety!

A common theme for all of Rikki’s music that is particularly prevalent in this track is the incredible guitar line! It is super catchy and impressive, even more so because it is played by Rikki Lee herself!

The song has a real edge about it and she really leans into that dark pop vibe with it. As much as I love the full track of ‘I Get Fidgety’ there is something super raw and intimate about having an unplugged version of it. You can really get a sense of the vulnerability in the lyrics.

I have been singing the chorus repeatedly and I just have to mention the lyrics again because they are *chefs kiss*

I can see this being a song played during a scene in Euphoria! Rikki has a very youthful appeal to her and her unique voice and incredible guitar skills make her a VERY exciting upcoming artist in the music scene!

Overall, I am excited to see what Rikki Lee brings to the industry next, I think she’s exciting, current, innovative and most importantly extremely talented!

Rikki’s ‘Unplugged EP’ will be available at the end of November and her debut album will be out early 2025!
