Meet Record Pink
By Clare Cordell
I sat down with my morning coffee ready to listen to two new tracks sent over to me by the new two sister singer songwriters ‘Record Pink’ and I wasn’t disappointed.
From the moment the introduction of ‘My Heart Goes!’ started up I was engaged. The track has a super catchy beat reminding me of old school 90’s soft punk. The beat and overall vibe of the song mixed with their voices makes for a super unique sound which I really enjoyed. There is something exciting about a duo made up of siblings as they obviously GET each other, and this translates into the music!
The layering and subtle accents of their voices alongside their great harmonies is very pleasing and their voices fit so beautifully together creating an almost ethereal sound. I cheered with joy when the horns started up. I’m a sucker for a horn line in songs and for ‘my heart goes!’ this was a GREAT addition.
The song has a catchy hook that I’ve found myself singing all day ‘my heart goes! Da da da da….’ The girls have a great sound and I’m excited to hear what they do next!
My Heart Goes!
I’m already sold before the song even starts by the title! Because we can ALL relate (am I right?!) The compelling drum beat that opens the song mixed with more ethereal sounding vocals from the Record Pink sisters is already a winning start.
Relatable lyrics that will speak to anyone who ever had a crush in their teenage years (speaking from experience always go for the nerds. It makes sense in the long run, and they’ll be able to do your taxes when your grownups!) Catchy melody lines that would lend well to a St Trinian’s style movie soundtrack!
